On Wednesday 4/17 we were graced to experience a presentation by engaging and expert linguists from the University of Arizona’s nationally regarded Linguistics
program. All students learned and participated in activities on topics including baby babble, the Tohono O’odham and Mutsun American Indian languages, Arabic, interpreting ancient hieroglyphs, and the rapid extinction of languages around the world.
Thanks again to Drs. Amy Fountain and Natasha Warner, and Drs.-to-be Dane Bell, Noah Nelson, and Mohammed Al-Sammak and to our very own linguist Irene Farrow for organizing this event!
