Summer is quickly approaching and we want to share several tips for a happy, healthy summer.
First, camp. If you are in town and can afford it (and even if you can’t – many camps have scholarships), summer camps are a great way for students to stay active, learn a new skill, make friends, stay busy. A comprehensive listing of camps in Tucson can be found at: http://www.bearessentialnews.com/summer-camp-guide-tucson.php
Second, read! Make it a big part of your summer. Go the library and gets stacks for free! Read together as a family. Get a book on tape for your road trip. Its fun and educational!
Third, for anyone who is in need a some food security this summer, children (2-18) living in a TUSD neighborhood can get free breakfast and lunches, Monday-Friday. http://www.tusd1.org/contents/depart/food/summer.asp Others districts will likely be advertising their programs shortly. Finally, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona will be providing food to school age children for June and July http://communityfoodbank.com/programs-services/alphabetical-list/the-summer-meals-food-service-program-for-children/
