Summer is coming!

Summer is quickly approaching and we want to share several tips for a happy, healthy summer.

First, camp.  If you are in town and can afford it (and even if you can’t – many camps have scholarships), summer camps are a great way for students to stay active, learn a new skill, make friends,  stay busy.  A comprehensive listing of camps in Tucson can be found at:

Second, read!  Make it a big part of your summer.  Go the library and gets stacks for free!  Read together as a family.  Get a book on tape for your road trip.  Its fun and educational!

Third, for anyone who is in need a some food security this summer, children (2-18) living in a TUSD neighborhood can get free breakfast and lunches, Monday-Friday.   Others districts will likely be advertising their programs shortly.  Finally, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona  will be providing food to school age children for June and July
