The renovation of the initial set of ‘Paulo Freire Freedom School – Downtown’ learning spaces continues through the summer with completion scheduled for 7/14/14. Upon completion there will be two large learning spaces and two adjoining break-out spaces accommodating 50 inaugural 6th and 7th graders and five full time staff. There will also be a central adult observation / work space.
When we open on 7/31/14, PFFS-Downtown will be a demonstration site/lab school for best PBL/STEM instructional practices and small school design. The spaces will be equipped with 21st century technology. PFFS-Downtown will be the vanguard of the emerging CITY 6-12 STEM Education Complex.
