The complete renovation of the alley between the building at 47 E. Pennington St (which houses City High School and Paulo Freire Freedom School – Downtown) and the building at 37 E. Pennington St (which will house the future CITY Innovation Center) is a huge project that began in September 2014.  It is a collaboration between students and staff at CHS and PFFS and “professors and students from UA’s Sustainable City Project and College of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture (CAPLA) to redesign our alley space into a more livable and beautiful environment for learning, hanging out, growing plants, eating lunch, performing, and playing.”  Read More

When this project is completed the alley will have been transformed into a Sustainable Laboratory Urban Garden – an integral part of the CITY Center for Collaborative Learning.
