With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year and Student-led Conferences being held on Thursday/Friday 10/29-30 (with an early release at 12:00pm each day) the Student Advisory Council at PFFS-University decided to hold our biannual ‘Spirit Week’ in the second week of November this year (11/9-13) and moved the Halloween party to the Friday of that week (Friday the 13th). BTW that particular Friday is the only ‘Friday the 13th’ during the entire school year until May 2016 – perfect for deferred Halloween party.
During ‘Spirit Week’ students dress up on different days according to different themes. This ‘Spirit Week’ the Advisory Council decided that the themes would be as follows: Monday, ‘Characters Day’ (from books, TV, movies, etc); Tuesday ‘Gender Bender Day’ (dress up different from your gender); Wednesday, Veterans Day (no school); Thursday, ‘Dress Alike Day’ (join up with someone else – 2s, 3s, 4s – to dress exactly alike); and Friday, ‘Scary Costume Day’. Dressing up is strictly voluntary but in the past lots of students have joined in the fun.
Friday, Nov. 13th is also ‘Advisory Service Day’ at PFFS-University. From 8:45am-1:00pm, each advisory will be doing their own service project in the community. Students should bring a sack lunch that day, a filled water bottle and appropriate shoes. Students will return to the school at 1:00pm for the school party together from 1:00-2:30pm.
