Safety and the PFFS ‘Coming and Going Policy’

The comings…

photo 4At both PFFS-Downtown and PFFS-University the ‘instructional day’ begins at 8:30 am every day school is in session (follow links to both schools’ Weekly Schedules).   Students may be dropped off at school earlier (the buildings are open with light supervision by 7:45 am each day) but the instructional day officially begins at 8:30 am with the whole school, community meeting.  Front6-11b (2)When a student is dropped off, they must come come into the building immediately (no waiting around in front of the school).  This is PFFS school policy (for safety reasons) and there will be no exceptions.

…and the goings

The instructional day at both schools ends at 3:30 pm every day except on Wednesday.  On M, T, H, and F students are to be picked up between 3:30-3:45 pm.  Any student waiting for pick-up who has not been picked up by 3:45 pm must come into the building to wait for pick-up and if parents arrive after 3:45 pm they must come into the building to retrieve their young person.  This is PFFS school policy (again for safety reasons).

…and early release Wednesday

On Wednesdays at both PFFS locations school ends at 1:45 pm and parents are to pick-up their young people between 1:45-2:00 pm.  The staff meeting begins at 2:00 pm.  Parents must pick-up their young person by 2:00 pm on Wed – no exceptions.

Please use the links (above) for a complete explanation of the instructional day at each school.

AfterSchool options

The PFFS-Downtown and PFFS-University ‘AfterSchool’ programs (follow links to AfterSchool sign-up forms) are provided on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri throughout the school year.  AfterSchool is a fee-based program (financial assistance is available) for PFFS students who have been signed-up in by their parents.  Please use the AfterSchool Form to sign-up your young person.  We charge for AfterSchool by the day, by semester, at $25 a day.  For example, you can sign-up your young person for all the Mondays in the Semester for $25 total.  If you want your young person to be in AfterSchool on all four days that it is offered  (No AfterSchool on Wednesdays) you would pay $100 for the semester.  The fees help us offset the cost of having a staff person manage AfterSchool and provide class/homework help.
