PFFS Student Wins Grand Prize for Art

lucia01We are excited to honor the very talented Lucia Meinig-Reeves. Lucia was the grand prize winner for her age group in the Living River of Words art and poetry contest hosted by Pima County.

Misty WingsLucia’s watercolor painting “Misty Wings” was inspired by the number of beautiful dragonflies she observed at the Santa Cruz river on an expedition organized by PFFS-U science teacher Ariane Mohr-Felsen.
Pima County’s Living River of Words program combines art and ecology to engage students in an exploration of the Santa Cruz river and other wetlands and watersheds. To read about the this program and view the other entries see Living River of Words 2016.
You may see Lucia’s watercolor up close, along with the other award-winning art and poetry, exhibited around Tucson at various places in the upcoming months.
