On Thursday (6/23/16) the Corporate Board of El Pueblo Integral – Teaching & Learning Collaborative met to officially approve the surrender of their charters with the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools to operate the Paulo Freire Freedom Schools at both the Pennington Street and University Blvd locations effective July 1, 2016. CITY Center for Collaborative Learning will operate both schools and City High School going forward as demonstration sites for best teaching practices and innovative school design.
Chad Blair Approved as New Principal of PFFS-University
Also at their meeting, the EPI Board appointed Chad Blair to be principal of PFFS-University effective immediately. After the meeting members of the board Santo Nicotera, JoAnn Groh, and Krista Marie Gypton took Chad out to lunch and invited Carrie Brennan (Executive Director of City Center for Collaborative Learning) to join the celebration.
