We are pleased to announce that both Paulo Freire campuses are starting a joint LGBTQ+ club! The club will take place Mondays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the university campus (300 E University Boulevard).
We encourage any student who fits under the LGBTQ+ umbrella or is questioning to participate.
Attached is the syllabus, which provides a basic outline of the meetings’ structure and topics. The club’s goal is to provide a safe and inviting space where students can learn about and discuss age-appropriate ideas surrounding gender and sexuality.
We would like this club to be an opportunity for students to make connections with each other and to obtain access to resources in the community.
The club will be primarily facilitated by Cassie, who teaches at PFFS and is studying gender and sexuality at the University of Arizona, with support from Claire, who is the school counseling intern at PFFS.
If you would like your child to participate, please print out the syllabus (or have your child print it out at school) and sign the bottom to provide permission.
Feel free to reply with any questions or concerns you may have.
Cassie and Claire
