Our technology and facilites department has been working diligently all week to prepare CCCL Chromebooks for distribution to families who need this support to engage with the remote learning that will start on Monday. If you also need Internet access at home, look at the end of this post for two links to free home WIFI.
Chromebook distribution will happen tomorrow at Paulo Freire Freedom School -University (300 E. University Blvd).
This is the same location as our food distribution center. See the map for the specific Chromebook pick up directions.
Here are the recommended pick up times;
PFFSU Families; 11:00 – 12:00
PFFSD Families: 12:30 – 1:30
City High Families: 2:00 – 3:00
Families can also pick up Chromebooks during the food pick up time of 8-10 am.
Please do your best to come during your school’s recommended time. This will help us spread things out better and allow the process to run more smoothly. However, if you can’t make your school’s time, you may come during another one.
If you absolutely can’t make it to this pick up tomorrow, but still need a Chromebook, please tell your advisor. We are working on supports to get a Chromebook to families who need one but can’t make it to tomorrow’s pick up.
There is a check out form that will need to be signed, and families will be responsible for the Chromebook staying in working order.
If you need WIFI at home, please check out these FREE home internet options;
For low income families with at least one K-12 student, Cox Communications has free in-home internet service for one month and $9.95 after that.
