PFFS Accepting New Students for Fall

Students on Expedition to Mt. Lemmon

Both Paulo Freire Freedom Schools have space available for new students this fall. If your student is looking for a small, personalized school which is safe, inclusive, and engaging, PFFS could be a great fit.

You may complete an online enrollment form here.

Our schools address the whole student, with a focus on community, wellness, inquiry, and connection. We use project-based learning, so students learn by doing. We have an advisory program which gives students a space to process their lives, reflect on their learning, and connect with others in meaningful ways. We focus on relationships and use a constructivist approach which values the lived experiences of each member of our community.

Students learn from each other in a Socratic Seminar

Our students also learn from the community. We regularly get out of the school building to visit local organizations and learn from local experts. Our Intersession program engages students in a week-long thematic learning experience, and our Expeditions are excursions to learn in and from our community partners.
