On Friday, August 22, the PFFS-University eighth grade will be going on an expedition to Mt. Lemmon about an hour away from school. The area is beautiful and a great deal higher than our city location, so it will be cooler and we will be among pine forests. This first expedition of the year for eighth graders will be a little different from years past. We are setting it up as a leadership workshop, a summit of sorts, with activities and discussions around what eighth graders envision for their last year at Paulo Freire. We will be thinking both about individual and communal leadership and how we can be better leaders when we get back to Tucson – in our homes, in our community and back at PFFS.
Expeditions occur every week at PFFS-U by grade level and are designed to connect us as a school to the greater Tucson community, as well as, our classroom learning to ‘real world’ experiences.
