PFFS-U 6th graders are on expedition again this week! We will be taking a trip to the Santa Cruz River to participate in Pima County’s Living River Program. The program “encourages young people to explore how water moves through the landscape and the connections that plants, animals, and people have to water.” It is a multi-part program, including a pre-trip class, the expedition itself, and post-trip art classes used as a vehicle for youth to express their impressions during the expedition.
We will be headed up to a portion of the Santa Cruz close to Wheeler Taft Abbett Library, about 20 minutes north from school. While there, we will participate in the program as well as eat lunch. We will be gone from 9:00 AM-1:30 PM. As always, we love having parents along for expedition but dropping the kiddos off and then coming back to pick them up is also always an option!
Please make sure your kiddo is wearing clothing comfortable for the outdoors and has closed toe shoes. Weather should be good that day! Cloudy and in the mid-60s to low-70s. Please also make sure they have a full water bottle and a lunch.
