PFFS-U 8th graders will be going to the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court on Friday 9/18. While there they will be seeing examples of the justice system and structure of government in action, both of which they have been studying in Humanities. They will also be gaining insight on the prison system, to help inform them in preparation for their “Prison Reform Project”.
The staff at the court house is being extremely generous and providing us a behind-the-scenes-look at some of the courthouse functions, as well as giving us the time for private Q&A with the Judge.
Please make sure your student is dressed more formally than they otherwise would be for school. Slacks, dresses and skirts, as well as long- or short-sleeve button-ups are appropriate. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Ariane.
