On Wednesday, January 27, both Paulo Freire schools is sending delegations of students to Phoenix to attend the TASH YOUth Day.
At this conference, our young people will participate in training to grow as leaders and advocates of self and others. The will interact and learn from teens around the state, discussing how to better understand and accept people of all abilities and differences.
Upon returning to school, our kids will facilitate activities to share their experience and insights with the rest of the community.
TASH supports inclusive education and “seeks to transform school communities based on social justice principles in which all students are (a) presumed competent, (b) are welcomed as valued members of all general education classes and extra-curricular activities in their local schools, (c) fully participate and learn along side their same age peers in general education instruction based on the general education curriculum and (d) experience reciprocal social relationships.”
