Aaron Cortez

I was born and raised in Callao, Peru. I moved to Tucson when I was 15 years old and attended Pueblo High School for two years. After that, I went to the University of Arizona and graduated in 2015 with a B.A in Hispanic Literature and with a minor in Portuguese. I went back to Peru in 2016 to gain experience in the educational field. I taught English in a prestigious language institute for one year, and I also worked for a Brazilian company where I had to use the Portuguese language everyday.

I came back four months ago to continue growing as an educator. I am currently taking a course at the UA CESL to get a TEFL/TESOL certificate. This will be my first year at PFFSU and I am very excited!

In my free time, I like to play soccer with friends and cook for my family. I was a chef garde manger (a.k.a pantry chef)  at the UA kitchen for 5 years. I almost became a chef, but my passion for teaching was stronger.
